MPP ART 4 SALE! After years of mismanagement, drug, & alcohol abuse, drag-queen-emulating glam rock pioneers & seminal punk band The New York Dolls broke up in 1975 leaving member Arthur “Killer” Kane (named after his “killer” bass lines & a nemesis of Buck Rogers) to eke out an existence on his own in L.A.! He didn’t fare too well & hit rock bottom in the eighties after seeing former band-mate David Johansen in a bit part in Scrooged (1988)! Decades later, pop star Morrissey asks the band to regroup & play London’s Royal Albert Hall! The heading for this Motion Picture Purgatory which originally appeared in a 2006 issue of The Montreal Mirror was “Church of the Latter Day Dolls!” As always; the original art’s for sale @ 100 bucks. More deets below or contact me for info. (To see image full-sized, click on it to open in a new window & use the magnify function).
