HALLOWEEN COUNTDOWN! Haven’t the “foggiest” idea what’s going on here? Yer not alone! Up until the mid-90’s even a hint of pubic hair or genitalia in Japan was grounds for arrest & legal prosecution (maximum 2-year sentence), so offending areas were obscured either with black bars, or most commonly, by fogging! It was self-imposed by the studios, not an outside agency, so uncensored prints simply don’t exist! In this film it almost adds to the surrealism! The heading for this Motion Picture Purgatory which originally appeared in a 2010 issue of The Montreal Mirror was “Fogging Flogging!” As always; the original art’s for sale @ 100 bucks. More deets below or contact me for info. (To see image full-sized, click on it to open in a new window & use the magnify function).
