So much has been made of the “gayness” of “A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge” over the years that a documentary’s now even in the works about the film’s homoerotic subtext called “Scream, Queen!: My Nightmare on Elm Street.” Here’s my original review of it published during my first wave at free weekly The Montreal Mirror in the 80’s, where I was hoping the franchise would go even further, spawning “a series drawing blood out of every imaginable danger-filled sex kink & perversion in existence (maybe even inventing a few new ones in the process), creating a forum for some of the weirdest special effects to come.” (To see image full-sized, click on it to open in a new window & use the magnify function).
