Case in point; \u201c<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/Recovering-1940s-Horror-Cinema-Traces\/dp\/1498503799\" target=\"_blank\">Recovering 1940s Horror Cinema: Traces of a Lost Decade<\/a><\/span>,\u201d which is being launched as part of Fantasia this Wednesday, July 29, from 5 to 7pm at cafe-bar Kafein, right by the film fest (1429 Rue Bishop), with some copies available at a discounted price! My contribution, an examination of Bela Lugosi\u2019s last vehicle, <em>Devil Bat<\/em>, is one of the only \u201cimages\u201d in this gorgeous, highly academic textbook! Certainly the only <em>cartoon<\/em>! Come say hi, &amp; then consider checking out a 16mm tie-in screening of Edgar G. Ulmer\u2019s Bluebeard (1944) afterwards at the Visual Arts Building, 7:30pm, #VA-114, 1395 Ren\u00e9 L\u00e9vesque Ouest, corner Crescent!
