{"id":312,"date":"2015-01-22T09:16:46","date_gmt":"2015-01-22T09:16:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.snubdom.com\/wordpress\/?p=312"},"modified":"2019-01-31T20:32:03","modified_gmt":"2019-01-31T20:32:03","slug":"snubdom-blog-makimbah-the-god-of-piss-1997","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.snubdom.com\/wordpress\/?p=312","title":{"rendered":"SNUBDOMIZER: \u201cMakimbah: The God of Piss\u201d (1997)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cMakimbah: The God of Piss\u201d was a stop-motion animation model idea I concocted in the early-eighties combining elements of Ray Harryhausen\u2019s Cyclops from The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad (1958) &amp; Marilyn Chambers\u2019 pulsating phallus protruding from a prolapsed anal armpit cavity equipped with an infectious hypodermic spike from David Cronenberg\u2019s Rabid (1977). Except since I was designing a superhero character, I just flat-out turned mine into urinating penises as a superpower. I never got to build it into a model but I serialized the character somewhat as a comic strip, making its first appearance in Montreal counter-culture magazine Sugar Diet #1 (1984). The pages seen here are from when I revived Makimbah in the mid-nineties for an exhibition. When Eric Braun asked if he could publish it in an issue of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a title=\"106U\" href=\"http:\/\/www.usine106u.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">106U<\/a><\/span>&nbsp;in 1997, I removed the text &amp; replaced it with hieroglyphics so it could appeal to a wider global audience. I didn\u2019t miss the text; too much exposition.
